HUMANS. ANIMALS. It's about US.

EVERY. FRAME. COUNTS.

Like music, our videos have rhythm. We meticulously research and shape the content, add music and sound effects, color correct and sweeten the sound. We edit in Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects and Adobe Audition. Motion graphics not only give our videos that extra "zazz" but they are an important tool when trying to explain an otherwise complicated concept.

MAKING SCIENCE UNDERSTANDABLE

Padma Video excels in making science relatable and entertaining. We break information down into understandable graphics and animation. Some of the topics we've covered include equine biomechanics, animal behaviorism, the physiology of hoof pathologies, the anatomy of saddle-fitting, nutrition and equine neuroscience.

DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKING

Documentary filmmaking allows for more expansion of ideas

than the increasingly common short-form internet videos.

The almighty doc allows us more time, more investigation, more "gray area," more perspectives, more truth, more...everything.

The question becomes...

what is the burning story that you need to tell?

About:

Kathryn Lauritzen and her beloved mare, Sala

KATHRYN LOVES HORSES.

Padma Video founder, videographer, and editor, Kathryn Lauritzen, has been "horse-crazy" since she was a little girl. Kathryn spent much of her youth riding her bike to the barn to take care of her horses. After college, Kathryn entered radio as an alternative rock DJ and spent 30 years on the air in markets such as San Francisco, Boston, Washington D.C., New York and San Jose.  During that time, she created hundreds of hours of audio production which naturally led to her passion for video production. Kathryn shoots on a Sony FS7, edits in Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Photoshop, After Effects and Lightroom. Padma Video is named after Padma, Kathryn's beloved thoroughbred mare of 24 years. Padma means "lotus" in sanskrit. The lotus is celebrated in many world religions and cultures, symbolizing the struggle of the lotus bud to rise through muddy and murky waters in order to blossom in the light. Kathryn believes that finding the beauty in difficult circumstances perfectly epitomizes documentary filmmaking.
